Introduction
I am Awelin, (*2007, France), and this is my site about pipe organs. I have been an amateur organist since the year 2020. ever since then I have been passionate about organ music, especially from the baroque and before; seconda prattica, renaissance, gothic. I do not think of myself as a HIP musician because I play quite freely but I try to take the time to study the sources and understand the historical context of the music I play and listen to, and think everyone should !
My absolute passion is organbuilding and it's my dream to become an organbuilder working with traditional methods and making large instruments in old styles and new styles too. There is always room for innouation and a craft can't be truly alive without people trying new things, and at the same time, there are many aspects of organbuilding that have been forgotten and make it nearly impossible to play some of the music we know on organs that are appropriate. I dream of building medieval block work organs and ones close to Praetorius' descriptions.
